Do you have a wireless router? And does he have a wirless card in his laptop?
Give your answer to this question below!
A wireless laptop still has a LAN port, just take the cable outta your comp, and put it in his.
His laptop will have an RJ-45 connector on it, just use some cat5 or cat6 (ethernet) cable and it will work fine as long as you aren’t filtering MAC addresses.
If you want to use wireless, you will have to either get a new router with wireless capability, or a wireless access point. http://www.newegg.com has numerous offerings for both at good prices and they ship fast.
