How can I check how much I have used of my broadband allocation BT?
Question by Nigel: How can I check how much I have used of my broadband allocation BT?
I have already tried accessing the home hub, looked through all the basic/advanced settings. Strangely there is not a counter for MB/GB etc, there is an uptime, max download speed etc but nothing that actually says how much I have downloaded.
I am only concerned as I am on a 40gb limit, which I suspect I may be near to using up and dont want to incur any charges.

You might be able to ring and ask their helpline but that’s about it really. Don’t forget they count downloads AND uploads
What do you think? Answer below!

I googled and found Tautology Bandwidth Meter for free which gives me all the info needed per day and per month. Suits me fine.
I’m with BT too and find it strange that they threaten to charge for overuse without giving you a monitor as part of their package.
