We’re just about to move into a new house, and want to set up broadband. We’ve been told that you have to pay BT line rental for at least 12 months before we can switch to another provider (we like the look of TalkTalk). Is this true?

No it’s not true.Talk talk can take the line over and you pay the line rental to them.I do that with them.Been with Talk talk now for over 3 years

if ur signing a new contract with BT u may be held to a 12 18 or 24 month contract this is usual but if u havent signed anything yet then ur free to choose who u want to go with. some companies u have to have a BT line with eg sky.
