i have bt broadband at home, my friend is having problems with her e-mails.she uses virgin for her isp, can i use my bt router to connect her laptop? will internet explorer pick up the broadband signal??

Right not too sure what you mean here. If her laptop is wireless and you have a wireless router then you can connect to the router via the laptop. This is using your connection. If you mean can you use your BT router to connect it to her virgin IP am not too sure you would have to try it and see it would not damage it in anyway.

She can connect to your router at your house to connect to BT. (Laptops aren’t “enabled” to a particular provider.) Her browser will work for web mail – if she uses an email program it won’t work.
(Her computer has to be set to automatically get an IP address – it should already be set that way.)
