Can i use my tmobile sim card from my phone in my tmobile broadband dongle?
Question by Christopher Kensington: Can i use my tmobile sim card from my phone in my tmobile broadband dongle?
I was just wondering if its possible to top up my mobile phone with £15 to get my unlimited texts then move the sim card to my tmobile broadband dongle and pay for a months internet with the credit? I do realise id have to keep switching my sim card back and forth . But still wondering if this would work.

Unlikely.
Internet access via the dongle occurs through GPRS/3G connection via an SGSN, and the SGSN will only allow the access if the number is provisioned with the relevant APN.
The APNs for Mobile Internet (internet on, erm, well, your mobile) are almost always different to the APNs for Mobile Broadband – i.e. the SIM from your mobile will have one APN, but your dongle will try to use the other APN (which you mobile’s SIM does not have provisioned).
The reason for different APNs is because with most mobile phones, internet access is pretty much limited to web browsing, and even then, on a very small screen (making it unusable for long-term watching of video clips, accessing any web sites that are not designed for mobile screen size, or streaming audio/video).
Mobile broadband on the otherhand, has an extensive range of applications, where you’re more likely to be transferring large amounts of data one way or another.
