Can I use my mobile broadband sim card in my mobile phone?

Question by alpharjrob: Can I use my mobile broadband sim card in my mobile phone?
I have mobile broadband with 3, I also have a mobile phone on contract with 3. If I take the sim card out of my mobile broadband dongle and put it in my mobile phone, will I be able to use the internet on my phone?

Yes, but you will be charged for it.
The Mobile Dongle uses a different ‘connection point’ known as an APN
than the Phone connection.

The Dongle APN connection has the ‘included’ allowance
The Phone APN does not… so you will be charged at what ever is their out of bundle/casual rate per MB, most networks that is between 3 and 8 pounds/MB (!)

Unless Three use the same APN for both… but no other network does… so don’t expect it.
