Can I get broadband without telephone rental?
Question by Aldan: Can I get broadband without telephone rental?
I’ve just moved into a new flat and need to get broadband. However I have no need for a telephone as I make all my calls on my mobile. The previous occupant of the flat had a phone contract with BT. Do I need to get a contract with BT before I can get a contract with a broadband service provider?

Unless you get cable tv installed & modem & run it from that.
What do you think? Answer below!

yes you can – through Mobile Broadband providers like Vodafone or 3. However, you should consider the pros and cons.
These services tend to be more expensive, especiall if you are downloading or uploading a lot of data. On the upside however, you are not restricted to using the service only at home…. so you need to consider just more that the inconvenience of having a phone line installed – after all, you don’t need to ever use the phone line to make calls.
get 3g internet just go in your three shhop and ask bout it you can aslo get this from vodafone, orange ,o2
if you have cable tv installed you can do it that way.
if not bt is the answer.
check with your service provider it will probably be cheaper to use bt than have to install and buy a cable package.hope this helps
