This review is from: BT Voyager USB ADSL Modem for connection to broadband (Electronics)
I’ve used this modem with both MacOS 9 and X. It was originally very easy to set up and use but I had, er… stability problems with MacOS 9. The modem would not reset properly and I couldn’t make a connection. When I accidently came across the MacOS X driver, this was the clincher to make me move to MacOS X – it is very good and and very stable with the MacOS X drivers! It is not quite “instant-on” – it takes about 3 to 10 seconds to synchronise – still much faster than the old telephone modems. It is exactly what I needed when I only needed the One broadband connection to my home. However I now need two computers on the internet at the same time and I don’t see how I can do this using this modem. However, overall I give it a thumbs up: the hardware has been very reliable and generally well designed.
