If your house is not already wired then you’ll have to run a wire from your Modem in Room 1 to your Room 2. You can buy 10-50 ft of Cat 5 or Cat 6 wire from places like Best Buy or in bulk (100+ feet) at Home Depot, etc.
I honestly think you’d be happier with a wireless connection. Perhaps you can think of a local geek you know? Tell him what you want and then ask him what it would take to install a wireless or wired network for you. Be sure to let him know if your PC will need to have an Ethernet Card or Wireless NIC Card installed as this will add to the cost. You’ll have to pay a lot for a certified geek so just some local kid should probably do for your purposes…I bet he’ll bite if you offer to make dinner and maybe throw in $ 20-50 depending on how long it takes. The Wireless router and any other supplies needed for a 1-3 PC Network should cost you no more than $ 75 – $ 100…so you’re looking at around $ 100 total if you have to pay the geek. Let me know if you have any questions or want more detail on anything!
you are making easy thing difficult.
