I am writing this while on hold to Virgin Media's helpline (one and a half hours now). Do NOT use Virgin Media Broadband! We requested the 50 megabit broadband package and have received the most awrful service.

BT Total Broadband: Response to recent Ofcom Report
BT says a report published by Ofcom into fixed-line broadband speeds among a range of internet service providers (ISPs) in the UK is “sadly out of date”. Broadband-help says "talk is cheap": in our own tests, BT on average delivers approximately 50% of its advertised 8meg.
